Milagres is a Brooklyn, NY based band that has come together over time in the interest of playing songs where melody and harmony triumph over novelty and kitsch. That's not to say that style isn't important. The groups five members are intent on constructing layered, beautiful and sparsely arranged music, emphasized by lush instrumentation choices: malleted percussion, electric piano and shimmering guitars.
Centered around the songwriting of Santa Fe, NM native, Kyle Wilson, the band has grown into a local favorite, garnering consistently favorable blog attention, while playing at some of the best venues in Brooklyn (The Bell House, Union Hall) and Manhattan (The Mercury Lounge, Cake Shop).
Two short mid-west tours have brought Milagres unique brand of brooklyn indie rock--equal parts Henryk Gorecki, Arvo Part, Radiohead--to new audiences, and to support slots for diverse artists like Women, Wye Oak, The Depreciation Guild, Elf Power, A Place To Bury Strangers, Inlets, Bound Stems, Pattern is Movement, and St. Vincent.
Following the self-release of their first full-length, Seven Summits, the band is quickly working through new material to take with them to this year's SXSW festival. A free, digital-only EP of three of these new songs will be available, directly from the band on Tuesday, February 17th.
